OVERVIEW

The spectacular Indrahar Pass lies at a height of 14,245 feet and forms a border between the breathtaking Kangra and Chamba districts. Though a short one, Indrahar Pass trek is considered to be a little challenging as the trekking trail consists of numerous sharp ascents and steep climbs.

The trek to Indrahar Pass is one of the most fascinating treks that Himachal has to offer. The magnificent view of the mighty Dhauladhar peaks, the lush green valleys, and the exotic flora and fauna will leave you awestruck. The path passes by the placid crystal blue waters of Lake Mankini and Kareri.

Note- If you are a group of 3 or more people, the trek can be organized anyday.

DETAILED ITINERARY

  • Start your Indrahar Pass trek from Bhagsu Nag taxi stand in Mcleodganj. Meet your trek leader. After the briefing session, start your trek to Triund. 
  • The trek trail is easy except for some stretches and the total Triund trek distance is 7 km on this day. While on the trek, walk through the dense forests of pine and enjoy the stunning views of the valley.
  • It takes around 5-6 hours to reach Triund top. 
  • Enroute take a pit stop at the famous Magic view cafe.
  • Upon reaching the top, enjoy the breathtaking views of Dhauladhar Ranges. 
  • Check-in to camp, freshen up and have some leisure. 
  • Enjoy the dinner with a bonfire under the sky full of stars. 
  • Experience Triund camping with an overnight stay in camps.

  • Wake up and enjoy the beautiful sunrise and stunning views of the snow- clad mountains of Dhauladhar.
  • Today's trek will take you to the fascinating Lahesh caves- known for its beautiful architecture.
  • After breakfast, start your further trek to Lahesh caves via Laka Got. It takes 5-6 hours to reach Lahesh caves. 
  • You will be passing through the Snowline cafe.
  • On the trail, enjoy the scenic views of the snow clad mountains. 
  • Have a packed lunch midway while treating your eyes with the beauty of the himalayas.
  • Upon reaching the campsite at Lahesh caves enjoy the mesmerizing sunset with the hot tea.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in the camps.

  • After a hot and fresh breakfast, start the most exciting part of the trek as you will be trekking to the ultimate target- Indrahar Pass.
  • Pass through the rocky terrains and beautiful Lahesh caves to reach the bewitching Indrahar Pass. 
  • Witness and enjoy the panoramic views of the Dhauladhar Range, Pir Pranjal, Mani Mahesh Kailash and other Himalayan peaks from the Pass.
  • After spending some time here, start your trek back to Laka Got.
  • Dinner and overnight at camps in Laka Got.

  • After breakfast, start your downhill trek towards Mcleodganj. 
  • A gradual trek of around 7 hours will take you back to Mcleodganj.
  • Reach Mcleodganj by afternoon. Bid a warm farewell to the fellow trekkers. 
  • You trek to Indrahar Pass ends here.

  • In case your trek remains incomplete or uninitiated because of "force majeure" or due to personal reasons after you arrive at the starting point, you will not be able to get a refund, reschedule or replace any services that remain unutilized by you
  • Any additional cost incurred due to changes in Government Guidelines related to travel/trek/COVID-19 will be borne by the trekkers
  • Loading and unloading of personnel luggage.
  • Any kind of emergency evacuation charges.
  • Anything that is not mentioned in inclusions.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • If cancellation is made 30 days before the date of travel, 25% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • If cancellation is made 15 to 30 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • If cancellation is made 0 to 15 days before the date of travel, 100% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.

September to October is the best season to do the Indrahar Pass trek just before the onset of severe winter. The normal weather conditions will be moderately colder but comfortable days with a temperature varying between 12 and 18 degree Celsius.
Usually, we take 22-24 people in one batch including males and females. We need a minimum of 6 people for a fixed departure, but for the customized trip, the group size doesn’t matter.

Indrahar Pass trek starts from the Bhagsunag waterfall taxi stand. From here, the tour commences with a 7-kilometer trek to Triund. From Triund we will be trekking towards Lahesh Caves via Laka Got covering a distance of approx 7 km. From Lahesh Caves on the third day we will be trekking to Indrahar Pass.Total Indrahar Pass trek distance is 35 km.

Also, ankle support is also a very important thing to take care of while buying the perfect pair of shoes. It may cause uneasiness to your body resulting in vomiting and breathlessness. The trek to Indrahar Pass is completely safe except during the monsoons and heavy snowfall as the trekking trail can get slippery. The moderate to difficult trek becomes quite challenging while climbing the Lahesh Caves which is surrounded by rocky terrains.
If it is winter time, then there will be complete snow on high passes and it will melt by August. When monsoon arrives, both Dhauladhar Ranges and Indrahar Pass will be affected by rain very well. After monsoon, the high places will feel the days warmer and sunny with a temperature of 12 to 20 degree Celsius and the nights with -2 to 6 degree Celsius. September and October are the best months with good, comfortable weather with little snowfall too.
