Nainital

March-June: These are the summer months in Nainital and are widely considered pleasant for sightseeing. It's also the perfect weather to go on a boat ride.

November-February: This season has a lovely misty charm, with temperatures dropping to zero degrees Celsius on the coldest days. If you enjoy snow, plan a trip between the end of December and the beginning of January.

How to reach?

By Air

Nainital, as a hill station, lacks direct air connectivity. The nearest airport is in Pantnagar, which is 65 kilometres from Nainital. The second nearest airport is in New Delhi, which is roughly 290 kilometres from Nainital's central town. The Delhi airport is well-connected to cities all over the world.

By Train

The nearest railway station is 34 kilometres away in Kathgodham, at the rolling hills of the Kumaon valleys. With daily trains to New Delhi, Kathgodam railway station has connectivity to important areas such as Delhi, Lucknow, and Howrah.

By Bus

Nainital has excellent bus connectivity to significant North Indian destinations. Several tour operators run daily bus services from New Delhi to Nainital, with options such as air-conditioned, non-air-conditioned, sleeper, and Volvo buses. Although some buses operate during the day, taking an overnight bus is the most popular way to get to Nainital.
