The mighty river of Beas originates from Beas Kund situated at an altitude of 12,772 ft in Himachal Pradesh. Sage Vyas was believed to take bath in Beas river at Beas Kund while he meditated and wrote the holy hindu epic Mahabharat. Beas Kund trek is famous for its grasslands and thousand years old alpine lake.

The trek to Beas Kund starts from the heart of Himachal Pradesh Manali. This trek offers you the best picturesque views of your lifetime. While on the trail, walk alongside the beautiful Beas river through the dense forest of oak, fir and walnuts and catch the glimpse of snow peaks like Friendship Peak, Shitidhar, Ladakhi and Hanuman Tibba. From the summit, one is also able to spot Mt Indrasen, Deo Tibba and more peaks from the Pir Panjal range. This trek is suitable for beginners and is a perfect weekend getaway from your mundane lifestyle.

DETAILED ITINERARY

  • In this Beas Kund Manali trek package group will assemble at goStops Manali early in the morning and will be transferred to Solang base camp.
  • Meet your trek guide and after a quick briefing session start your trek to Dhundi Village.
  • The snow-capped mountains are visible throughout the trail as you pass through the dense forests of Oak, Fir and Walnuts.
  • It will be an 8 km trek and will take you 5 to 6 hours to reach.
  • Upon reaching Dhundi, check into the campsite and freshen up.
  • Dhundi is famous for its stunning view of the Hanuman Tibba.
  • Enjoy hot and fresh lunch while treating your eyes with the beautiful view of Hanuman Tibba.
  • Evening is free for leisure, soak into the beautiful views all around and spend some fun time with fellow travelers around the bonfire under star studded sky.
  • Later in the night dinner will be served and overnight in camps.

  • Wakeup to the beautiful view of Hanuman tibba and after scrumptious breakfast start your much awaited trek to Beas Kund via Bakarthatch.
  • Walk through the Lush green meadows filled with the local shepherds alongside the Beas river.
  • Arrive Beas Kund after a 4-5 hour of trek. Beas Kund is known as the source of the Beas river. 
  • Have your packed lunch near the river and enjoy the mystical views of the surrounding at the same time.
  • After spending some time at the Beas Kund start your trek back to Dhundi.
  • Enjoy the soothing scenery of the beautiful snow capped mountains as you descend.
  • Upon reaching the campsite have your dinner and rest for the day in camps under the sky full of stars.

  • Get up in the morning and enjoy your breakfast.
  • Start your journey towards Solang Base Camp.
    Reach Solang and start your journey back to Manali.
  • Reach Manali by evening as your memorable Manali experience comes to an end.

  • Additional costs due to flight cancellations, landslides, roadblocks, and other natural calamities or delays.
  • Insurance: Personal and travel insurances
  • Beverage: Mineral water bottles, bottled or canned beverages
  • Snacks: Chocolates, dry fruits, protein, or nutrition bars
  • Entertainment: Camera or drone fees
  • Equipment - Gumboots, trekking poles, etc.
  • In case if your trek remains incomplete or uninitiated because of "force majeure" or by personal choice after you arrive at the starting point, you will not be able to get a refund, reschedule or replace any services that remain unutilized by you.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • If cancellation is made 30 days before the date of travel, 25% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • If cancellation is made 15 to 30 days before the date of travel, 50% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • If cancellation is made 0 to 15 days before the date of travel, 100% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

The maximum altitude that you’ll climb during this trek is 12,772 ft. You’ll be able to witness the view of multiple snow peaks from the top.
All the members of support staff are certified in wilderness first aid and are trained for all concerns related to high altitude. The staff will be carrying a first aid kit to ensure the maximum safety of the trekkers.
This trek starts from Solang Base Camp and one has to cover the total distance of 16 km to complete this trek. You will also be accompanied by guides who will keep guiding and motivating you throughout the journey.

Beas Kund altitude is 12,700 ft. Expect it to be very cold even in summer. In May, June, and July, the temperatures could drop to around 1-2 degrees at night and lower if there is snow. In September and October, there won’t be snow, but the temperatures could drop to 3-4 degrees post sundown.
The best suited shoes for this trek route are the ones that are breathable and light in weight. Also, ankle support is a very important thing to take care of while buying the perfect pair of shoes. You can go for brands like- Decathlon, Wildcraft, Quechua, etc. In the winters, you’ll require gators or gumboots which you can rent from the base village
Beas Kund is a 3-day trek. Accommodation will be in tents on all the days – each tent will be shared by two trekkers.
Veg Nutritious food is provided during the trek on all days. Eggs/canned meat can be provided on special request.
In the month of June you are likely to find snow. However, this depends on the amount of snowfall that happens in the preceding winter. Throughout the year Beas Kund weather is bit cold.
The trek is led by professional trek leaders who have completed basic and advanced mountaineering courses. There will be one guide who leads the group and another guide who will be walking at the end of the group making sure of the safety of the whole group.
