Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Joshimath

  • Start your Valley of Flowers trek from Rishikesh. Meet the fellow travelers and the trek guide.
  • After a quick briefing session, start the drive from Rishikesh to Joshimath.
  • Take a short stop over at Devprayag and witness the holy sangam of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers together forming Ganga.
  • To reach Joshimath, pass through Rudraprayag and Karnaprayag driving alongside Alaknanda river.
  • Upon reaching Joshimath, complete the check in formalities and freshen up.
  • Have a hearty chit chat session with the fellow travelers.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Joshimath.

Day 2: Trek from Pulna (Govindghat) to Ghangaria

  • After having an early morning breakfast, start your trek to Ghangaria.
  • Trek through the eye-catchy views of the gorgeous scenery that is created by Mother Nature.
  • On the trail, get amazed by the beauty of lush green forests and pass along the beautiful Lakshman Ganga River.
  • Reach Ghangaria after covering a distance of 13 kms and trekking for 5-6 hours.
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay at Ghangaria.

Day 3: Trek from Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and back

  • Post breakfast, get ready for the ultimate adventure on your Valley of Flowers trek.
  • Trek up to an altitude of 3,505m to arrive at the Valley of Flowers Uttarakhand.
  • Upon reaching the valley, you will witness an array of thousands of colorful and vibrant flowers in full bloom.
  • Get mesmerized by the beauty all around and explore the valley.
  • After spending some leisure time here, descend back to Ghangaria.
  • Reach the hotel and end the day with a delicious dinner.

Day 4: Trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and back

  • Enjoy a lip-smacking breakfast at the hotel and get ready to pay homage to the holy Shrine Hemkund Sahib.
  • The trekking trail is a bit difficult due to the steep ascent and trekking stick can come in handy.
  • Reach Hemkund Sahib, a religious site where Guru Gobind Singh is said to have meditated in the previous life and it is also considered the world’s highest gurudwara.
  • This place is located between the snow capped mountains as well as a mesmerizing serene lake that offers an amazing view of the mystical location.
  • After spending some time here, start your trek back to Ghangaria.
  • Upon reaching Ghangaria, mark the end of the day with a warm dinner and retire to your rooms.

Day 5: Ghangaria to Joshimath

  • Begin your day early with a delicious breakfast and start your trek to Joshimath.
  • As you descend to Joshimath, get ready to listen to some interesting local stories shared by your guide
  • On the trail admire the view of beautiful and exotic fauna and flora.
  • Upon reaching Joshimath, check in at the hotel and freshen up.
  • Explore the surroundings in the evening.
  • Enjoy a lip-smacking dinner and overnight stay at Joshimath.

Day 6: Joshimath to Rishikesh

  • After a mouth-watering breakfast, board the vehicle and start driving back towards Rishikesh.
  • Arrive in Rishikesh by evening.

How to reach?

By Air: Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun serves as the nearest airport to Rishikesh. Visitors can take a direct flight to Dehradun from Mumbai or Delhi or connecting flights from anywhere in India. Local vehicles can be availed from outside the airport to reach Rishikesh by road from Dehradun.

By Train: Rishikesh Junction Railway Station is well-connected to all the surrounding major cities. Visitors can easily find frequent trains to Rishikesh from Delhi and Dehradun.

By Road: Rishikesh is well connected by roads to all major cities and towns, so visitors as per their choice and comfort can take the bus to reach Rishikesh smoothly. Rishikesh is connected to Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun, and Nainital through a good network of roads.

• Transportation during the journey from the pickup on day 01 to drop on day 06 is covered.
• Accommodation- Stay is included from Day 1 to Day 5 (Joshimath to Joshimath). You will be staying in lodges on   all days of the trek. Rooms will be shared with fellow trekkers.

• Since Valley of Flowers is a monsoon trek, there are possibilities of roadblocks due to landslides. Account for this by adding a buffer day in your travel plan.

  3. The organization reserves the rights to modify the trek during any emergencies or natural calamities.
  4. In unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, the trek may get canceled or altered. In such cases, the operator will try to provide with an alternate option, however, a cash refund will not be applicable in this situation.

  • If cancellation are made 30 days before the date of travel then 25.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • If cancellation are made 15 days to 30 days before the date of travel then 50.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • If cancellation are made 0 days to 15 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.

It is a 6-day trek. Accommodation will be in the hotel on all the days on Quad sharing basis. Double and triple sharing will be arranged on special request.
The best suited shoes for this trek route are the ones that are breathable and light in weight. Also, ankle support is also a very important thing to take care of while buying the perfect pair of shoes. You can go for brands like- Decathlon, Wildcraft, Quechua, etc. In the winters, you’ll require gators or gumboots which you can rent from the Joshimath.
The nearest railway station from Joshimath is Rishikesh Railway station which is 250 km away from there and is well connected with the major destinations like Lucknow, Calcutta, Delhi, etc.

No, such activities are not advisable during the trek. In the Valley of Flowers trekking package, you will be trekking at higher altitude areas where your body needs more oxygen so if you drink and smoke then there will be adverse effects on your health and it may lead to you in serious health condition.
Usually, we take 20-24 people in one batch including males and females. We need a minimum of 6 people for a fixed departure, but for the customized trip, the group size doesn’t matter.

While the summers here are a bit scorching, the valley is best known for its spring season. Whereas Valley of Flowers in winter can be really chilly due to its height, which can act as a spoilsport for various different activities. Hence is not advisable.
Our treks are planned with a male: female ratio. As an organizer, we make sure that their rooms are shared only with other female trekkers.
The trail difficulty level towards Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib is moderately difficult. Good physical and mental fitness is expected to complete the trek.
The trek is led by professional trek leaders who have completed basic and advanced mountaineering courses. There will be one guide who leads the group and another guide who will be walking at the end of the group making sure of the safety of the whole group.
Beyond the base location there will be no network connectivity. Only BSNL network will be there on the base location. So it is advisable to be prepared well for the same.
All the members of support staff are certified in wilderness first aid and are trained for all concerns related to high altitude. The staff will be carrying a first aid kit to ensure the maximum safety of the trekkers.

Follow all the instructions from your guides. The stay will be in hotels on double/triple/quad sharing so one must not expect any luxuries. The climatic conditions in the mountains can change from time to time, so please pack your bags accordingly.
Of course, you can visit Hemkund Sahib on your trek to Valley of Flowers. It is a must visit attraction. It is one of the most revered Sikh Shrines. Hemkund Sahib is the world’s largest gurudwara situated at 4239 m altitude.
It starts to open in the beginning of June till mid October. Rest of the year it stays covered in snow. Hence monsoon is the best time to go for this trek.
