Very well known for its scenic landscapes, the trek starts from the small village of Sankri which is the basecamp for many other treks such as Kedarkantha, Har ki Dun and Bali Pass.

Pass through the dense forests which are extremely rich in flora and fauna on your trek to Phulara Ridge. One can easily spot the eye catching vistas of great Himalayan peaks such as Kedarkantha, Swargrohini, and many more, along with the snow-capped mountains of the Garhwal range on this trekking trail. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri

  • Upon arrival in Dehradun, start your onward journey to Sankri for your Phulara Ridge trek.
  • Drive on the road covered by pine forest along Yamuna and Tons river.
  • Reach Sankri by evening and checkin to the homestay.
  • Dinner and overnight at Sankri.

Day 2: Sankri to Juda ka Tal

  • Post breakfast, get briefed from your guide and meet your co-trekkers.
  • Start your trek to your first campsite- Juda ka Tal
  • Pass through the dense forest as your trail is covered with oak forests and maple leaves.
  • It takes around 3 hours to reach Juda ka Tal covering a distance of 3 km.
  • Get mesmerized by the scenic views all around. 
  • Upon arrival, check in to the camps and have evening snacks.
  • Spend sometime by the lakeside and hear interesting facts about it from your trek guide.
  • Later have dinner and retire for the night.

Day 3: Juda ka Tal to Dunda Thatch

  • Get up in the middle of mountains and enjoy your breakfast.
  • Start your trek towards Dunda Thatch.
  • Walk through the dense forests which open into beautiful meadows.
  • Kedarkantha peak is visible from here. Enchant your soul with mesmerizing views of snow capped mountains.
  • The campsite is the perfect spot to catch beautiful sunset and sunrise and many peaks such as Purola region, Swargarohini and Devkyara, Lekha Top can be spotted from here.
  • Later in the night after exploring the beautiful surroundings, have dinner and retire for the day.

Day 4: Dunda Thatch to Pushtara via Phulara Ridge

  • Wake up early and catch the sunrise from behind the snow capped peaks.
  • After a scrumptious breakfast, you will start your trek to Phulara Ridge.
  • Today on the trail, you can feel the snow-capped mountains moving with you as you trek.
  • With a smearing view of the snow-capped Himalayas, reach Phulara Ridge.
  • Get to know about all the peaks visible from your guide.
  • Later after spending some leisure time soaking the beautiful views of all around and with a heart full of memories, start your trek towards the campsite.
  • Reach Pushtara, check into the camps and freshen up.
  • Enjoy the dinner. There will be an overnight stay in camps.

Day 5: Pushtara to Taluka | Drive to Sankri

  • Enjoy the delicious breakfast at the campsite. Start your descent to Taluka village.
  • On the trail, admire the views of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.
  • Come across streams of crystal clear water and trees of wildflowers, bamboo and deodar gracing your way.
  • On reaching Taluka, explore the village and later board a vehicle to Sankri.
  • Upon reaching Sankri, check in to the guesthouse/homestay and freshen up.
  • Explore the local area in the evening and enjoy evening snacks.
  • Have dinner and retire for the night.

Day 6: Departure

  • After breakfast, board the vehicle and start driving back towards Dehradun.
  • Arrival in Dehradun by the evening.
  • Phulara Ridge trek ends here with beautiful memories.

How to reach?

By Air: Dehradun’s airport is the Jolly Grant Airport, which is located 20 km away from the city centre. Air India, Jet Airways, Jet Konnect and Spice Jet have regular flights to Dehradun. You can hire a taxi from the airport to reach the city, which should take you 40 to 45 minutes depending upon traffic.

By Train: Dehradun is connected by regular train services to cities Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ujjain, Chennai and Varanasi. The Dehradun Railway Station is located 1-2 kilometers away from the city centre and should take you only ten minutes, depending on traffic. Dehradun is connected to the rest of the country by trains such as the Shatabdi Express, Jan Shatabdi Express, Dehradun AC Express, Doon Express, Bandra Express and the Amritsar-Dehradun Express among others.

By Road: Dehradun is well connected to most cities such as Delhi, Shimla, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Agra and Mussoorie by Volvo, Deluxe, semi-deluxe and Uttarakhand State Transport buses. These buses arrive and depart from the Dehradun Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) near Clement Town. Buses depart from here every 15 minutes to one hour. Other bus terminals in Dehradun are the Mussoorie Bus Station, located at the Dehradun Railway Station which has regular bus services to Mussoorie and other nearby cities. Another interstate bus terminal in Dehradun is the Delhi Bus Stand on Gandhi Road.
