Around twelve hours overnight to Bhuntar, then about ninety minutes by shared cab up the valley to Kasol. Fares run roughly 1,200 to 1,900 rupees for the Volvo sleeper from Kashmiri Gate ISBT, plus 100 to 400 for the cab.

When is the Manali to Kaza road open?

Roughly June to October. The road crosses Kunzum La, which is closed by snow the rest of the year, so outside that window Spiti can only be reached from the Shimla and Kinnaur side and you must return the same way.
