By Air
The closest airport to Ooty is in Coimbatore, which is at a distance of 90 km from goSTOPS Ooty. You may take a cab from the airport, which costs around INR 3000-3500. Alternatively, you may also take a town bus to the New Bus Stand, Coimbatore from outside the airport and then go to Ooty from there.
By
Train
The closest railway station to Ooty is in Mettupalayam which is at a distance of 50-60 km from the hostel. There may not be direct rail connectivity from all the cities so it is recommended to reach Coimbatore and then continue the journey via road- taxi/bus. You may also catch a local town bus from the Coimbatore railway station for the New Bus Stand, Coimbatore which runs every 10 minutes.
By Taxi
Coimbatore Airport: It is 90-100 km from the hostel and a cab costs INR 3,000-3,500.
Coimbatore railway station: A cab from here costs INR 3,000-3,500 for the 100 km journey.
Coimbatore bus stand: It is 100 km from the hostel and cab costs INR 3,000-3,500.
By Bus
Regular buses ply to and from Ooty from cities including Bengaluru, Mysore, Coimbatore, and Chennai. It is well linked with these regions through Tamil Nadu State Road Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and some private travel services.
If you are coming from Bangalore/Mysore- ask the conductor to drop you off before the Coimbatore bus stand - at the Finger Post bus stop. From here, you can walk to goSTOPS Ooty which is less than one km.
If you are coming from Chennai/Coimbatore, the bus will drop you off at the main bus stand which is 3-4 km from the hostel. You can cover the rest of the way via an auto which charges INR 150-200.
If you are coming via your own vehicle, you can use this location to reach the hostel. We have a parking space at the property.
