Kochi is the bustling commercial port city of Kerala and is inarguably the ideal place, to begin with, to explore the diversity and beauty of god’s own country, Kerala. From Chinese fishing nets to the old churches and the quaint Jewish parts of the town here, you can have it all. Laze around in the arty cafes, explore the famous beaches and experience a colonial-era feel with cool winds from the backwaters, that soothe the nerves of backpackers sailing across the city.

Kochi is well-connected to other parts of the country with a good network of flights, trains and buses.
By Air
Cochin international airport is 40 km from goSTOPS Kochi and is well-linked to the major cities. You may take a direct cab that costs INR 800-900 during the daytime and INR 1000-1200 at night. Alternatively, you may also take a bus from outside the airport to Aluva and cover the rest of the distance through local transport. Check the bus section.
By
Train
There are two main railway stations in Kochi.
Ernakulam Town Station (North): It is 13-15 km from goSTOPS Kochi and you may take a cab which costs INR 500 (daytime) and INR 700 (at night).
Ernakulam Junction Station (South): It is 13 km from the hostel. You may take a cab which costs the same as above.
By Bus
Buses from different regions come here but they aren’t frequent and the route is a little difficult to understand so we recommend taking local transport instead as follows:
Local transport from various places across the city
From Kochi Airport:Take a bus to Aluva and then take a metro to Maharaja’s College. From Maharajas college, you may take an auto for INR 25 to Marine Drive.
From Ernakulam Town station (North) or Ernakulam Junction station(South):Take an auto to Marine Drive which costs INR 60-70 for the 3-5 km journey.
From Marine Drive, take a boat to Fort Kochi, which costs INR 6 and runs at regular intervals from 5:30 am-9:30 pm. The hostel is just 600 meters from Fort Kochi. You may walk or take an auto for INR 10-20 for the rest of the way.
